Trista Welch

Siyo! I’m an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, a member of the Long Hair Clan and I reside in the Painttown Community on the Qualla Boundary in Cherokee, NC.  My work for the tribe includes aspects of Tribal Law, Indian Preference in Employment, Economic Development, and Financial Management.  I am also honored to work with EBCI Elders to assist them in protecting our Natural Resources, language, and culture.

As an artist, I make ribbon skirts, fingerweave, traditional wear, and graphic design work. I’m also part of the Indigenous Logic Cohort, where I explore visual storytelling as a way to support Native communities through art. Feel free to email me if you are interested in Graphic Notetaking for you or your organization.
