Rooted in the Mountains Honorees

During this year’s Rooted in the Mountains Symposium, we were honored to recognize three women whose dedication and vision have shaped and strengthened Indigenous birthwork and community care.
Onita Bush was honored by Katsi Cook (Mohawk midwife and Executive Director of the Spirit Aligned Leadership Program) and members of the planning committee for her commitment to bringing culturally appropriate doula care to the EBCI community.
Brittany Arch was honored In Memoriam for her passion and dedication to traditional birthwork. Her spirit and legacy continue to guide this work.
Dr. Lisa Lefler was honored on Day Two for her unwavering commitment to Rooted in the Mountains and for helping bring this gathering to life for the past 15 years.
We are deeply grateful for the leadership, love, and labor of these women.
