The Center for Native Health’s Relational Health Program Director, Kristina Hyatt, supported by a Council of EBCI elders, is building a cohort of Certified Doulas on the Qualla Boundary. This project has been named by the Cherokee Speakers Council as Ꮧ⁠Ꮒ⁠Ꮑ⁠Ꮃ⁠Ꮧ⁠ ⁠Ꮧ⁠Ꮒ⁠Ꮝ⁠Ꮥ⁠Ꮈ⁠Ꭿ⁠Ꮩ “di⁠ni⁠ne⁠la⁠di⁠ ⁠di⁠ni⁠s⁠de⁠lv⁠hi⁠do”, which translates to “those who help the pregnant ones”.
