Cherokee Central Youth Conservation (CCYC)

The Cherokee Central Schools (CCS) Youth Conservation Club (YCC) engages 8th to 12th-grade students. In its inaugural year, the CCYC will hold bi-monthly meetings and four seasonal field trips, focusing on integrating cultural teachings with practical environmental education. Through the CCYC, the Center for Native Health (CNH) seeks to achieve several key outcomes: boosting youth knowledge of conservation and Cherokee ecological principles, enhancing their outdoor stewardship skills and self-assurance, strengthening their environmental connection and cultural identity, and raising community awareness of these youth conservation initiatives.
